What does it mean to be transformational?

It means transcending surface-level changes—no more simply adopting a new activity or trendy program! Our approach is about reshaping beliefs, enhancing understanding, and applying evidence-based strategies to elevate our educators to expert status. Much like how we seek specialists in the medical field for our health, every student deserves similarly trained experts guiding their educational journeys.

An expert teacher knows how to go beyond following a script or manual to make short—and long-term decisions about the students in front of her, not the hypothetical students publishers write for. Expert teachers use a gradual release model for instruction, and they understand how learning works and intentionally create conditions for the transfer of learning across the day and subjects.

There is no core curriculum or program that will meet the needs of every student in a classroom. How do teachers respond to the twenty percent, for example, that do not meet the curriculum's goals? This is just one of the questions we empower teachers to answer.

Transformation teaching is also about training, updating, and enhancing interventionists as diagnosticians who understand the complexities of learning, including executive function skills.
